About Us

The Riad Maison du Sud is a family run guest house conveniently located in the heart of Essaouira’s bustling medina.

Maison du Sud is a charming, authentic 18th century riad. After a generous renovation and keeping in style with Moroccan Andalusian décor and architecture you can live like in "1001 nights".

With a courteous service, there is nothing lacking in this boutique style riad.

Accommodation

We offer 24 custom-designed guestrooms, many of which are split level suites which include Moroccan lounges.

All rooms are furnished in traditional Moroccan style - carpets, artwork and textiles and range in size to accommodate singles, doubles or parties of four. All have very clean bathrooms.

The room and suites all open onto a light-filled interior courtyard with pretty tiles, bubbling fountain and colourful tables.

Dining
Moroccan meals are served on request. Our talented chef offers menus using fresh local produce from the market and the port. You will be able to discover the true richness of Moroccan culinary art. Dinner can made to order upon request and can be served in the privacy of one’s suite or in one or our lounges.

Salons/Lounges
Enjoy your dinner reclining on cozy cushions in the comfortable, traditional Moroccan sitting rooms surrounding the courtyard or simply enjoy a mint tea here.

Terrace
For your relaxation a spacious rooftop terrace is equipped with deckchairs for sunbathing. Tables are set up for breakfast, over looking the magnificent view of the sea, the activity of Essaouira’s souks below, and the roofs of the old Jewish district of Medina.

Courtyard
The courtyard features a bubbling fountain, Moroccan tiles and colourful tables. The courtyard is perfect for a quiet breakfast or mint tea in the afternoon.

The Maison du Sud is situated 300m from the sea.

MAKING A RESERVATION

What am I getting? - Your reservation at the Maison du Sud includes bed & breakfast and all taxes. Please note that your reservation does not include transfers from the airport to the hotel.

What happens next? - After clicking "Book Now" you will be directed to a secured page requesting your details. After completing your details click "Confirm Booking." Thereafter you will receive confirmation of your reservation at the email address you provided. Your resevation is now confirmed and no further action is required on your behalf. Once again we would like to remind you that all information provided on EasyAfrica is done securely.

Cancellation policy - Due to the high demand of accommodation in Morocco hoteliers need to be made aware if you are unable to fulfill your reservation. A late cancellation means that the hotelier may not sell the room to another guest. Therefore all hotels have cancellation policies.

At the Maison du Sud cancellations made later than 30 days prior to date of arrival will result in a 50% of total cost cancellation fee. Any cancellation made later that 14 days prior to date of arrival will result in 100% of total cost cancellation fee.

Payment Policy - When making a reservation on EasyAfrica a non refundable deposit of 20% is paid immediately to confirm your reservation. The balance is payable to the hotel upon check in/check out.

Reservation Request
All reservations made on EasyAfrica are confirmed immediately online. If however you do not wish to confirm your reservation immediately, require further information before doing so or cannot find availability please send your requests to info@easyafrica.co.uk
